The Sleaford and District Branch of The Royal British Legion will once again hold the Annual Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service on Sunday 9th November 2025.
The Parade will be forming up on Station Road at 10:15am ready to step off at 10:30am. The Parade will include contingents from the serving military based at both RAF Digby and RAF Cranwell and cadets of the Army and Royal Air Force units in Sleaford and various Veterans Associations and Youth Organisations.
The Parade will halt on Market Square where the Service will be conducted. Wreath laying at the War Memorial will take place at the appropriate time in the Service. Wreath laying parties from representative organisations are to make themselves known to the Parade Marshall on arrival at the Market Square.
The Service will be conducted by the Rev Philip Johnson, Vicar of St Denys’ Church. Veterans who wish to march in this Parade should report to the Parade Marshall on Station Road and he will instruct which contingent the individual should join for the march. Veterans who do not wish to march, or are unable to, should report directly to Market Place by 10:30am. At the end of the Service the Parade will march past the Reviewing Officer from RAF Digby to the NKDC Car Park and be dismissed from Parade. Members of the
public are invited to lay wreaths / crosses at the War Memorial once the Marching contingent departs.
ARMISTICE DAY:
A short Service will be held at the War Memorial at 11am on Tuesday 11th November to mark Armistice Day, however, there will be no laying of wreaths as this will be undertaken on Remembrance Sunday.
