Step back in time at Navigation House!
Explore the rich history of Sleaford, pick up some local information and leaflets and browse the charming gift shop with local items, all in this historic Canal Company Office.
This original canal company office, built in 1838, is now an impressive, refurbished Grade II listed building that stands in the old public wharf area, now known as Navigation Yard. The building, thought to be the only one of its kind still in existence, has a heritage theme covering the early development of the new River Slea, the story of the Navigation and its significant impact on Sleaford’s history.
Interactive exhibits, displays and film footage make a lovely visit for all ages – you can even pick up some duck food and continue your experience along the riverside to Cogglesford Watermill.
Our knowledgeable staff will help you discover the area – collect some free leaflets and local information here, including the monthly Towpath.
Open Friday to Monday, 10am – 2pm. Free entry.
